Met Office Issue Yellow Weather Warning for Cumbria

The Met office have issued a Yellow Weather Warning for most of Cumbria and Lancashire for Monday and Tuesday with heavy rain forecast.

The yellow weather warning comes into force from 12noon n Monday until 5:30am on Tuesday morning with rain becoming prolonged and heavy at times during Monday afternoon and evening, easing from the west overnight. 20-30 mm of rain falling widely with 40-50 mm in a few places, mainly over high ground.

With many rivers in the area still heavily swollen from Storm Isha and Jocelyn further rain could lead to flooding across the region.

The met office warning said that Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.

Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer with Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.
