As part of the preparation work by National Highways for the A66 upgrade work to strengthen the road beneath the central reservation between M6 junction 40 and Kemplay Bank roundabout will see a series of lane closures and full overnight closures from Friday 12th June.
The closures will help National Highways keep two lanes running in each direction during main construction, reducing disruption for road users.
National Highways will also install CCTV cameras along the A66 between M6 junction 40 and Temple Sowerby bypass. The CCTV will be used to monitor traffic so National Highways can respond quickly to incidents or breakdowns.
