Celebrating its 20th year, the World Marmalade Awards and festival taking place this weekend at Dalemain, has attracted thousands of entries from around the world.
This years World Marmalade Awards had 3,200 entries come from as far away as Hawaii, New Zealand, South Korea, Botswana and Georgia, along with thousands of entries from across the UK.
As well as the citrus offerings in this years entries, some of the marmalade’s contained more exotic ingredients such as caterpillars and Irn Bru.
Hitomi Wakamura, from Tokyo, said it was a "great honour" to be chosen as winner in the homemade category.
The winning marmalade will now go on sale at Fortnum & Mason in London, with a percentage of the proceeds from sales going to the Hospice at Home charity.
Hitomi Wakamura said: "It's a great honour that my Yuzu and Pear marmalade was chosen in the Homemade Competition this year.
"I would like to thank all those involved for giving me this opportunity. "
The World Marmalade Awards and festival taking place at Dalemain today has attracted crowds to sample the marmalades and explore Dalemain along with a free bus service linking Dalemain and Penrith where visitors can enjoy music and explore the towns shops that have decorated windows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the awards and turn Penrith Orange.
The UCC band and Penrith Town Band are playing in the town band stand currently to entertain the crowds of visitors.
