Flooding on A6 North of Penrith.
Following the heavy rain overnight and with more rain forecast today for the area. Large amounts of surface water remain on roads around Penrith with the A6 between Penrith and Plumpton flooded in places with floodwater forcing vehicles into the middle of the road.
Traffic lights in Penrith at the crossroads of Victoria Road and Old London Road are out of action following this morning’s power cut that affected parts of Penrith.

No Trains running North of Preston with Do not travel warning issued.
Services between Preston & Glasgow/Edinburgh have been cancelled due to heavy flooding on the railway between Carlisle and Lockerbie blocking the line in both directions.
Rail service operators have said “Please do not attempt to travel with us between Preston & Scotland.”
