National Highays have announced that due to Storm Boelo and the forcast winds tonight, the A66 in County Durham/Cumbria will be closed in both directions between the A67 near Bowes and the A685 near Brough from 20:00 this evening.
Road users travelling across the Pennines this evening are advised to plan ahead and consider alternate routes such as the A69.
If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
