A full planning application for the construction of 93 new houses on homes on a 3.34 hectare site located on the north- western edge of Penrith, adjacent to the A6 has been submitted to Westmorland and Furness Council by local construction company Atkinson Homes Ltd.
An outline planning application for development of 89 properties on the land located to the North of Raiselands Farm and North of the site Persimmon are currently building 220 new houses was submitted in 2017 to the former Eden District Council and is still under consideration by Westmorland and Furness Council planning officers.
Concerns over site drainage had been raised by network rail who place a hold on any decision for the outline planning application been made by the council. But the land is one of the few remaining allocated sites in Penrith for residential development in the current Eden Local Plan.
Now a full planning applicant for a development of 93 properties with the proposed development plans including 66 market homes and 27 affordable homes, with a mix of 2-5 bedroom homes including bungalows, semi-detached, terraced, and detached houses has been submitted to address matters raised in connection with the original outline application, when submitting the application the agent for the applicant said “it has got to a stage where it is expedient to submit a full planning application”.
The plans say all 93 properties will include at least two parking spaces with the main road access to the development via a junction with the A6, along with links through to the adjacent persimmon homes developments included in the proposed development layout.
The application is open to public consultation until the 2nd August 2025 full plans can be viewed online at https://goto.penrith.town/Planning-application-2025-1203FPA
Public consultation responses can also be submitted to Westmorland and Furness Council online via the same link.
