Penrith Bus Timetables

A number of improvements and new bus services are to be launched in March providing more public transport links to and from Penrith. Ahead of the first of these new services starting on Saturday the 23rd of March. Penrith.Town is launching our travel tracker that will enable you to check the latest timetables  enabling you to check the times of all bus services in the Penrith area along with all live train times at Penrith Station.

Saturday will see the new 509 service launch at weekends and bank holidays, providing a bus service from Penrith to Keswick via Clifton, Hackthorpe, Lowther Castle, Askham, Tirril and Pooley Bridge. The new 509 service starts on Saturday the 23rd March 2023.

Other improved bus services will also be introduced over the next week including the 563 Penrith to Appleby Bus service is being extended to include Kirkby Stephen and Kendal. This service will offer new Monday to Friday links from Kirkby Stephen and Warcop to both Kendal and Penrith.

The 563 revised timetable will come into effect from Monday 25 March 2024.

The 104 Penrith - Carlisle service will be restored to running every half hour in the daytime from the current hourly timetable from Saturday 23 March 2024.

X4/X5 buses will increase in frequency between Penrith and Keswick, with passengers able to catch a bus every 30 minutes.

The new bus timetables will be running until November 2024 and services will allow passengers to take advantage of the £2 single fare scheme on these routes.
