Windows at Penrith’s former Co-op building have had large window decals applied to them ahead of The Gathering event this weekend.
The windows had been covered with decals linked to the Winter Droving depicting images of locals who had been involved in supporting the community during the pandemic.
However individuals linked to this weekends Gathering event, earlier this week ripped the Winter Droving branded decals from the windows.
Today the individuals appeared and started to install new decals showing old photos from around Penrith.
However a spokesperson for the owners of the Old Coop building has confirmed they have no received any request or given approval to remove or install anything on windows on the building.
Westmorland and Furness Council has also not been approached or granted advertising consent for the installation on the commercial property located in the towns conservation area.
The Gathering, which takes place on Saturday, October 24, has been organised by Penrith Bid working with local groups and organisations after Eden Arts announced it was relocating the Winter Droving which has run in the town for 14 years to Carlisle this year.
