Penrith Store to Hold its Last Ever Sale as Vaseys announces Closure after 80 Years in the Town

A Penrith store that has become part of the furniture in the town is preparing to draw the curtains after over 80 years in Penrith.

Vaseys the prominently located furniture store in Dockray has seen many changes over the last 80years in the town and many changes in how we furnish our homes.

But this week the store will start its final sale as it launches its £675,000 closing down sale with upto 70% off. A private invitation only two day event will be held on Wednesday and Thursday for special invited guests who have purchased from the store over the years. On Friday the doors will open at 10am to everyone to view the range and deals on offer. The entire stock will be sold on a first-claim basis.

The owner of the business has taken the decision to close the Penrith store to focus on the rest of the family-owned business that started 125 years ago and includes a store in Carlisle and online serving customers across Cumbria and the Scottish Borders region, as well as parts of the North East and Northern Lancashire.

Mike Vasey Managing Director of Vaseys said “On behalf of all the staff at Vaseys Penrith past and present, it’s been a privilege to serve so many special customers” “and all the people of the area since the store first opened over 80 years ago and I’d like to than you for your valued custom.”

Every single price in the store will be drastically reduced for the sale as the business has said that they must urgently sell all the furniture and accessories that include Suites, sofas, corner groups, sofa beds, recliner and riser chairs, dining sets, sideboards, wardrobes, beds, bed frames, mattresses, chests, coffee tables, pictures,  mirrors, bed linen, pillows, rugs, ornaments just some of the items that must be sold by 4pm on Sunday.

Wednesday and Thursday the store will be open to invited guests for an exclusive 2 day private sale.

From 10am until 6pm the public sale will be open to all on Friday and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 4pm.
