Brambles Is Back as Café Bar, Restaurant and Deli Opens at Newton Rigg Today

A familiar name is making a welcome return today as Brambles Café Bar, Restaurant & Deli opens its doors at Newton Rigg, bringing a new lease of life to a building once familiar to generations of students at Newton Rigg.

After months of work transforming the former college building, Brambles officially reopens today, Monday 26th October, offering somewhere new to meet friends for coffee, enjoy breakfast or lunch, or simply relax and take in the surroundings.

For those who remember Brambles from its Newton Rigg College days, the name will certainly bring back a few memories. But anyone expecting to walk back into the old student haunt is in for quite a surprise.

The building has undergone a major transformation, with its former college interior replaced by a stylish new café, bar, restaurant and deli, creating a fresh destination on the Newton Rigg Estate.

Penrith.Town was invited along for a sneak peek at the refurbished Brambles during a pre-launch event last week, and the changes are impressive.

What was once part of everyday student life at Newton Rigg has been given a completely new look and feel, with welcoming surroundings designed for everything from a quick morning coffee to a leisurely lunch.

The new Brambles brings together a café, restaurant and deli under one roof, meaning visitors can enjoy something to eat or drink while also having the opportunity to browse and shop in the deli.

Whether it's breakfast to start the day, brunch with friends, a lunchtime catch-up or simply somewhere to escape for a coffee, Brambles is hoping to become a popular meeting place once again.

The reopening is also another positive step in the continuing transformation of the former Newton Rigg College site, bringing a familiar name back into use and opening the doors to the wider community.

For many local people, Newton Rigg holds plenty of memories from its years as an agricultural college, and the return of Brambles offers a chance to revisit a familiar location while discovering just how much has changed.
