Westmorland and Furness council approve historic first budget.

A meeting of the new Westmorland and Furness Council taking place currently at county hall in Kendal has just voted to approve the councils first ever budget.
Despite concerns of the conservative members of the council over the lack of savings the budget delivers and the level of reserves.
The budget was approved with all Libdem, Labour, green and independent members voting to support the budget with only the conservative members voting against the first budget.
Members are now set to approve the Council Tax setting for the year ahead.
