Police Investigations Continues After Tebay Services Sealed Off

Tebay Northbound services remains closed this afternoon following a police incident that resulted in the service station access roads been sealed off and 15 police vehicles surround a HGV near the petrol station.

The incident is linked to an serious collision on the M6 between junctions 21 and 21A. Police were called around 2.50am today, Saturday 7 March, to reports of a collision on the motorway.

Officers in attendance at the scene found that a pedestrian had been struck by several vehicles.

Sadly, the pedestrian was found dead at the scene.

Road closures remain in place between junctions 21–21A (Cheshire) and 28–30 (Lancashire) while emergency services work to clear the area.

A cordon is also in place at Tebay services in Cumbria to allow for the forensic examination of a vehicle that is believed to have been involved.

The HGV tractor unit was removed from Tebay on a recovery vehicle just after 1pm with the curtain side trailer been prepared for removal by police.
