Slow Moving Abnormal Load Due to Travel North along M6 on Sunday.

Another slow moving abnormal load will to be transported North along the M6 on Sunday morning (8th March).

The convoy will be transporting another of the supergrid transformer that will be delivered to National Grid's substation at Harker, Carlisle from Heysham Port.

The load is due to leave Heysham around 7am on Sunday morning and arrive at Carlisle around 4pm passing by Penrith at approximately 2pm, subject to traffic and weather conditions.

The load will be escorted along the route, to help manage traffic as the slow-moving convoy makes its way North along the M6 taking up lane one and two including through the roadworks and lane closures between J37 and J38 at Tebay and also between J39 Shap and J40 Penrith through the works at Clifton.

Long delays around the convoy could occur as it travels North along the M6. National Highways have asked drivers to have Care and patience when overtaking in lane three.
