Sunbeams Music Trust Calls on Community for Spooktacular Fundraising Support

Sunbeams Music Trust is calling on local businesses, families and community groups to embrace the Halloween spirit and help raise vital funds to help the trust.

Annie Mawson’s Sunbeams Music Trust, based near Penrith, delivers award-winning Community Music Therapy to more than 2,000 beneficiaries each year. Through sessions at the Sunbeams Music Centre, over 50 care homes and day centres, and online, the charity uses the power of music to improve health, wellbeing and social connection.

Each year, Sunbeams must raise more than £450,000 to sustain its work, and this October it is asking the community to combine fun and fundraising in true Halloween style.

Fundraiser Jules Blundell said:

“We’re true believers at Sunbeams that fun and fundraising go hand in hand. Whether it’s a fancy dress competition, zombie fun run, creepy bake sale, Halloween quiz or pumpkin carving contest — every idea helps bring the Power of Music to Cumbria.”

The charity’s annual Sunbeams Spooktacular Family Day will also return later this month, offering live music alongside a range of Halloween-themed activities for families to enjoy.

Sunbeams is encouraging workplaces, schools, clubs and friendship groups to get involved, spread the word, and help raise funds that make a tangible difference to local lives.

Those wishing to take part can contact jules@sunbeamsmusic.org or call 01768 892909 for fundraising packs, donation buckets and promotional materials.

All proceeds will go towards supporting the charity’s ongoing work with some of Cumbria’s most vulnerable residents.

“Pennies really do make pounds,” added Ms Blundell. “Every contribution helps us to continue sharing the joy, confidence and creative freedom that music brings.”
