Section of Drovers Lane Closed for Three Days to all Traffic and Pedestrians

Drovers Lane, Penrith, from its junction with Portland Place, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 35 m along Wordsworth Terrace in Penrith will be closed from Monday the 25th of March for three days to allow access for utilities work with all access prohibited including vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians also.

Westmorland and Furness Council have said that due to the nature of the works it is not possible to maintain access for pedestrian and dismounted cyclist through the site.

The diversion route for vehicles will be via the unrestricted section of Drovers Lane, Meeting House Lane, Sandgate, Fell Lane, Beacon Edge and Wordsworth Street.

The three day closer is to allow United Utilities to install water pipes it’s understood will provide a mains water connection for Westmorland and Furness Councils Voreda House office development.
