School Warning Parents that New Wimpy Kid Movie could ‘Ruin Santa’.

A local school has sent out a warning to parents about the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie titled “Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever,”

The school said, “It has been brought to our attention that the new Diary of Wimpy Kid Christmas Cabin Fever movie on Disney+ contains some information about Santa that you may not want your child to know.”

Plumpton School who issued the warning to parents said it wanted to share the information with parents so that the magic of Christmas isn’t ruined prematurely.

But does it really ruin Santa?

We have taken on the hard task and watched it to find out and here is our take on it.

The story starts two weeks before Christmas and the protagonist Greg is looking at a game console in a toy catalogue that he desperately wants for Christmas.

He thinks that this could be his ‘last year’ to get something good for Christmas as he has noticed that the quality of christmas present declines as you get older.

The movie has a few more mentions of Santa, then 23 minutes in the real spoiler happens. Greg is sent to look for some wrapping paper in a cupboard when he finds the very game console, he wished for hidden there.

So does this movie ruin Santa? It certainly could. If you have a younger child it may go over their head but older children, children who are very astute or kids who are already beginning to question things will almost certainly be able to put the pieces together and, at the very least, ask you some difficult questions you may be hoping to put off for a few more years.

According to Disney Plus, the movie is aimed at children aged six and over, but if you want to keep the magic alive for another year it might be best to hide the remote.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever,” premiered on December 8th, 2023, exclusively on Disney+.
