Cumbria Police have issued a warning to residents following reports of cold callers operating in Penrith yesterday (Thursday 31st August).
The same individuals have been operating in Carlisle earlier in the week police have said.
The individuals have been calling at the addresses of elderly residents, initially offering to clear gutters and then telling them they need roof repairs.
The individuals involved are reported by Cumbria Police as three males in a red MG Estate car with ladders on the roof.
Police patrols will be out looking for them today in the area and Cumbria
Police have asked for the publics help if you see the individuals operating in the area by calling 101.
