A drugs warrant was executed at a residential property in Penrith on Monday (23rd June) as part of an ongoing crackdown on suspected drug-related activity in the Eden area.
Officers from the Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team,
supported the Northwest Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU), Cumbria
Police’s dogs section, and intelligence unit, to carry out the operation and execute
the drugs warrant at the Penrith residential property.
Police confirmed that entry was gained to the property, but
no drugs were discovered during the search.
Despite the outcome, police say the operation forms part of
a wider effort to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs in the district.
“We are continuing to target and disrupt those we suspect of
being involved in drug supply,” a spokesperson for Cumbria Police said
Local residents are being encouraged to report any
suspicious behaviour or information about drug activity. Information can be
provided by calling 101 or anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers at crimestoppers-uk.org.
All information received will be assessed and investigated,
police said.
