Penrith Parking Ticket Hotspot as Council Issues over Half a Million Pounds of Parking Tickets in 2023


2023 has seen more than half a million pounds worth of parking fines handed to drivers in the Westmorland and Furness Council district with over 20,000 tickets issued including 1,754 in Penrith.

Data from Westmorland and Furness Council reveals that the council’s enforcement officers issued 20,969 penalty charge notices in 2023.

The number one hotspot for fines in Penrith was Great Dockray with 694 fines handed out by the council in 2023.

Westmorland and Furness Council Parking Fines for the current year are set at:

Penalty Charge Notice paid within 28 days with fines at the higher level £70.00 and the lower-level fines at £50.00. The council does offer a 50% reduction on its parking fines if paid within 14 days.  

Across the Westmorland and Furness Council area Great Dockray carpark in Penrith takes the number 2 hotspot for tickets issued in the district’s top 10 parking fine hotspots, with Penrith gaining four of the top 10 hotspots for parking tickets.
