Penrith Business Announces Shock Closure.

The Chopping Block based in Penrith New Squares has today announced it has closed its doors.

Earlier today the shop was been emptied of all stock and equipment after not having reopened after Christmas.

In a short statement issued by the owner this afternoon he said

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the doors of the Chopping Block have opened for the last time.”

“We have given it our best shot over the last 5 years, but sadly things must come to an end.”

“I wanted to say a huge thank you to all our loyal customers, for your support and friendship.

A massive thank you to staff past and present, who without, I couldn’t have had such a fantastic 5 years!”

“Times continue to be tough for many of us and, as a business owner I am fully aware of how difficult it is. We’ve hurdled many obstacles along the way and have lots of success to look back on and be proud of.”

The closure has seen questions raised by members of the public about gift vouchers sold by the Chopping Block in the run up to Christmas. Although the owner has said most voicjers sold before Christmas were as deposit for meat orders and all but two have been used.

The closure of the Chopping Block comes as other businesses in Penrith are also facing growing pressures added to by the road closures and also face having to consider closure.
