Penrith based Ast maintains carbon neutral status and announces expansion of HQ

Penrith based AST that counts Amazon, Barclays, Culina and Malcolm Group as clients has retained their carbon neutral status for another year. AST became officially certified as carbon neutral in accordance with PAS2060 in 2023 building on the work in 2023 the business have also achieved a 17% reduction in intensity as well as a 10% reduction in absolute emissions

The certification demonstrates the companies commitment to constantly refining the way they work to minimise their impact on the planet and be genuinely sustainable.

In the last year AST increased the electric vehicles in their fleet and overhauled the way in which the company process and compact waste to increase recycling efficiency. 

They have taken recycling to another level by repurposed four shipping containers to create a new CNC workshop and are currently in the process of adding a new building to the AST Penrith HQ to house a fitting facility.

It’s not completely altruistic – it makes sound business sense, especially long term. Since we started to calculate and monitor our carbon footprint in 2011 we’ve reduced it year on year and our aim is to continue to do so until we’re Net Zero.”
