Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team officers took part in a multi-agency Winter Ready Traffic Operation in Penrith town centre on Monday evening.
Officers were on hand to check people's vehicles in preparation for the winter months and to issue advice on how people can check over their own vehicles so that they are safe to drive.
Police also had The Crash Car trailer on display showing the devastating impact of a vehicle collision.
The operation also saw vehicle related offences and fines handed out during spot checks on vehicles officers pulled in for inspection on Market Square in the town.
The multi-agency team acted on a number of offences in Mondays operation including:
1 £80 fine issued for no tax
2 DVSA vehicle prohibitions for bald tyres
1 vehicle seized for no tax and 2 un-roadworthy tyres
1 vehicle searched under S23 Misuse of drugs act
1 person searched under S23 Misuse of drugs act
1 traffic offence report for no insurance
2 traffic offence reports for using mobile phone whilst driving
1 DVSA prohibition for faulty air braking system and a dangerous tyre
2 traffic offence report for bald tyres.
