Met Offices issue Yellow Weather Warning for Thunderstorms Today

The Met Office had issued an updated Yellow Weather Warning covering all of Cumbria and the North of England in force until 8pm on Sunday evening for Thunderstorms, The met office says slow-moving heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause flooding and disruption in places, including our region.

The met office has said that Slow-moving showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop during Sunday afternoon. Rainfall accumulations will vary significantly across the area but where showers become organised, there is the possibility of 20-30 mm of rain falling in an hour or less. Frequent lightning and hail may also cause impacts.
