The Penrith place change group Evolve Penrith are asking people for their views and ideas about parking in Penrith the group are particularly keen to hear views and experiences of using the pay and display machines in the towns pay and display carparks.
The group have said that “members of Evolve Penrith are working on a report to present to Westmorland and Furness Council and Penrith Town Council on Car Parking in the town along with options to help boost visitors and residents usage of the town and boost footfall through changes to parking provisions alongside other options for parking.”
As part of some work carried out over Christmas when the group said it’s “members asked car park users about what they would change about parking one issue that was raised by many of those asked was the ticket machines currently in operation in the council operated pay and display car parks with some machines described as difficult to use and others not always working resulting in some drivers risking not having a parking ticket or abandoning their stay and moving on to other locations.”
As part of the Penrith Parking Report members of Evolve Penrith are now planning to carry out an audit of all the car parking ticket machines in the town carparks over a period of 4 weeks at random times of the day and the accessibility of the machines for all users.
To help in creating the report Evolve Penrith are asking people to share their views and experience of any of the pay and display machines in Penrith especially if you have had any issues in using them alongside views on parking in the town and what you think should be changed.
You can email Evolve Penrith directly at email@evolvepenrith.co.uk
They are asking people to include the time, data and ticket machine location and number along with the issues or feedback on the machine.
The group has said that no personal details will be used in its final report that they plan to present in September to Westmorland and Furness Council and the Town Council.
