The Leader of Eden Council is under a code of conduct investigation due to go before a code of conduct investigation panel this month.
The leader of Eden Council Councillor Virginia Taylor is the subject of two code of conduct complaints for about her actions in council meetings in the capacity of leader of Eden Council.
The complaints include comments made about the future employment status of council officers and comments made about an individual that have been classed as potentially defamatory and damaging to the professional reputation of the individual.
Councillor Taylor in the capacity as Eden Council Leader made the comments in Eden Council meetings held in November.
It’s understood the code of conduct panel will consist of 3 serving Eden council members plus an external independent person who will consider the code of conduct complaints made against Councillor Taylor as Leader of Eden Council.
The Eden council monitoring officer has accepted as valid complaints for the panel to consider and make a judgment on.
