Eden District Council have for the second month in a row cancelled the councils plnned cabinet meeting.
No cabinet meeting has taken palace since a meeting on the 15th of November held at Appleby Eden Cricket Club.
In that meeting the leader of Eden council made a comment about the future employment of officers of Eden council and later tried to say the comments had been a “spontaneous joke”
The comments of that meeting and other comments of the least are now the subject of code of conduct investigation against the leader of Eden Council.
It’s not known if the code of conduct investigation is the reason the cabinet meetings are cancelled.
The Eden Council cabinet work plan lists the now cancelled meeting scheduled for the 17th of January had a Key decision to be made by the cabinet.

Key Decision:
To seek approval for the extension of the contract for a contractor in their role as Inspiring Eden Project Manager to a value of £70,000 which is £10k beyond the limit at which a Key Decision is required as detailed in the Council’s Constitution.
Eden council has only two more cabinet meetings scheduled before Eden District Council is replaced by the new Westmorland and Furness council on the 1st of April.
