Dozens of Mobile Phones Stolen at Kendal Calling

Despite a low number of arrests at this years Kendal Calling over drugs and other offences, It has now emerged that during last weekends Kendal Calling music festival at Lowther Deer Park dozens of mobile phones were stolen over the weekend that saw 40,000 attending the music festival.

Some of the mobile phones were tracked travelling south down the M6 by owners using the built in location tracking features before signals were lost.

police have since the end of the festival on Sunday night received multiple reports of stolen mobile phones.

A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: "Following Kendal Calling Festival, Cumbria Police have received multiple reports of mobile phones stolen”.

"These reports are currently being investigated.”

Over the four-day festival that celebrated its 20th Anniversary this year Cumbria Police made just 10 arrests relate to drugs offences, assaults, driving offences and one for public order offence, that number could increase if those involved in the theft of the dozens of mobile phone are found.
