As part of the Winter Droving event, as dusk descended across the Ullswater valley, a crowd gathered to take part in ‘Welcoming the Wolf’ in a spectacular start to the Droving season, the crowd had a chance to join in as participants in the joyful collective experience to mark the start of Winter Droving week.
As the Ullswater steamer sailed across the lake towards Pooley Bridge the sound of drums could be heard across the lake as the inimitable Spark returned to drum in the 2023 Winter Droving to Welcome the Wolf marking the beginning of the Droving week in Pooley Bridge.
Spark! Started the Ullswater Droving festivities with their inimitable performance of light, sound and magic.
The Wolf casting its eye across the festivities as the procession moved from the pier, across the welcoming bridge lined with flags and into Pooley Bridge drums, lights and smoke filled the air as crowds gathered to Welcome the Wolf ahead of its journey across the fields to Penrith ready for the Penrith Winter Droving event next Saturday.
