Members of the Westmorland and Furness Council strategic planning committee meeting today in Kendal had been recommended to approve plans to build 194 houses on land to the North of Penrith along Inglewood road by Story Homes.

Planning officers had recommended the approval of the development that has drawn objections from the town council and local residents.

During today’s meeting the members of the planning committee agreed to defer a decision until the next Strategic planning committee meeting due to be held on the 15th of May.
