Could you be the next Penrith Museum Curator?

Eden Council are looking for a highly motivated individual to share the curatorial duties at the Penrith & Eden Museum.

The Museum is a small one but offers a high standard of curatorial expertise and Eden Council are looking to continue the high standard of expertise.

The main focus of the role is to collect, preserve and interpret material, art and antiquities relating to the cultural, archaeological and natural history of Penrith and the Eden area.

In addition, the role will see the curator develop new and varied exhibitions, undertake education outreach work with schools and other groups and liaise with community groups and outside bodies in order to facilitate Museum projects and events.

Eden Council would also like the new curator to develop opportunities for volunteers to work at the Museum.

Eden Council have said “Due to the small size of the Museum team, this post would suit someone with a flexible mind set, enthusiastic, with a willingness to take on a varied workload and ability to manage changing priorities.”

If you would like to apply to take up the role of curator of the history of Penrith and Eden at the Penrith Museum in the historic Robinson school building in Penrith the closing date for applications is Friday 20 January 2023 at 10am.
