BT Answer Questions on Changes to Phone Lines at Penrith Library Event.

As part of the preparations for the digital switch over BT have been in Penrith today, with a team to answer questions and provide more information on the switch to digital, they have been explaining what Digital Voice is, why the change is necessary, and what it means for you.



The BT drop-in event was held today Thursday the 4th and is also taking place on Friday the 5th of January between 10:00 and 16:00 atPenrith Library.

Questions have ranged from will my number change to is my broadband fast enough for the new digital voice service.



BT and other telecoms providers announced a few years ago the time has come for the UK's entire phone network to undergo a major revamp with the Public Service Telephone Network switch off planned to be completed by December 2025.



Changes are rolling out across Penrith and the North West over the next few months in an initial option change ahead of what will be change for all ahead of the final pub’s service telephone network switch off In December 2025 when every landline in the UK will be switched off and all services delivered via broadband digital services.  



The BT team will be on hand to answer any questions at Penrith Library between 10am and 4pm on Friday.
