Brunswick Road Set to Reopen as First Phase of Gas Works is Completed.

The first phase of gas works currently taking place in the town centre that have closed Brunswick Road and Middlegate since the 3rd of January are almost complete with Brunswick Road set to be reopened by Wednesday 24 January 2024. 

Northern Gas Networks are aiming for both roads to be reopened sooner but weather conditions may delay until Wednesday.

Although the road will be reopen to traffic further reinstatement works are still to be carried out on Brunswick Road and Corney Place on the flower bed and a small section of parking bays on Middlegate, this work will not affect the reopening of the roads.

Phase 2 - Along the top end of Middlegate into Devonshire Street are due to start on Wednesday 24 January 2024 at 8am and will be in place until the 5th of February.
