Agricultural Hotel Sold for undisclosed Price

The Agricultural Hotel in Penrith has been sold for an undisclosed price following its failure to sell at auction last month despite bids of £290,000.


The auction on May 24th held at the Halston Hotel in Carlisle, Auction House Cumbria auctioneer Colin West opened the bidding for the Agricultural Hotel with the first bid made for £200,000


A bidding battle commenced with bidders in the room on the internet battling it out with the hammer finally falling on the auction of the Agricultural Hotel at the bid price of £290,000. The auctioneer was unable to sell at the bid price.


However Sold signs have now gone up on the Agricultural Hotel following the closure at the start of June. Auction House Cumbria have confirmed the Agricultural Hotel in Penrith has been “Sold post auction for an undisclosed amount.”


The sale of the property comes as an attempt to register the Agricultural Hotel as a community asset is underway submitted by the Solway CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) branch. Westmorland and Furness Council are expected to make a decision o
