Traffic Delays around J40

Traffic is currently facing days of around 30 minutes around junction 40 with tailbacks on the A66 between Stainton and J40 heading eastbound.

Westbound between Kemplay and J40 is also queuing with delays of 20mins to get onto J40.

Traffic exiting the M6 both north and southbound is also queued back down onto the motorway.

Roads through Penrith are also seeing heavy traffic and long delays due to the delays around J40.
