The Met Office has issued a weather warning for ice covering Cumbria

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for ice covering Cumbria with the Yellow weather alert in force for until 10am Tuesday.

The warning issued is a yellow weather warning, meaning the weather could lead to travel disruptions. "Ice may cause some delays and difficulties," the alert issued states.

The Met Office predicted the chance of 'some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces' and warned of icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

The alert is in place until 10am Tuesday, with wintery showers likely to result in ice formation on roads and paths. Motorists have also been warned over 'difficult driving conditions'.
