Police and Trading Standards officers carried out a series of coordinated raids on multiple Penrith town centre businesses in on Friday afternoon, as part of an ongoing joint operation.
Multiple police vehicles and officers arrived in the area in a join operation, with properties on Middlegate among those visited by the multi agency team during the operation.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said in a brief statement this afternoon:
“Cumbria Police has attended a number of premises in the Penrith town centre area today (31 Oct) as part of an ongoing operation alongside Trading Standards.”
No further details have yet been released about the nature of the investigation or whether any arrests were made due to the ongoing operation.
