Penrith parking cost set to rise from April 10th new council announces.

Charges for parking in Penrith pay and display carparks will rise from the 10th of April 2023 the new Westmorland and Furness council has announced.
Car parks at Bluebell Lane, Drovers Lane, Sandgate available 7 days a week and Mansion House and Penrith Town Hall available Saturday and Sunday will all see rises to charges set at:
Up to 1 hour at £1.50 a rise of 20p
Up to 2 hours at £2.20 a rise of 20p
Up to 4 hours at £3.90 a rise of 40p
Up to 10 hours at £5.50 a rise of 50p
The towns short stay carparks at Princes street will see charges also increase with up to 1 hour costing £1.50 a 20p rise and up to 2 hours costing £2.40 a 30p rise.
Sundays and Bank holidays across all the councils pay and display carparks will be charged at £1.10 a rise of 10p.
The increase in parking charges comes as other towns in the North continue to offer in many cases up to 2 hours free parking in a bid to help encourage an increase in footfall to provide an economic boost for high streets.
