Penrith high street blow as another retail chain closes in town

The Savers store has closed its doors as the chain confirms it has closed permanently it’s Penrith store.

Savers store was until the 13th trading in a prominent large shopfront position at the entrance to Penriths main retail area.

The building is understood to be privately owned by an landlord based in Ireland along with other retail units.

A  representative for the chain confirmed to our reporter this morning that “The Penrith Savers store has been permanently closed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The Penrith store had previously been converted from Savers to Superdrug and opened again as a Savers again in early 2020.

The nearest Saver store is now located in Workington.

The closure of the Penrith Savers store comes as other national chains are reportedly considering the future of there Penrith store also.
