Penrith is set to sparkle tonight as the towns Christmas
lights are switched on at 6pm by Helen Skelton.
Before a Christmas tractor parade will travel along King
Street and Marketplace with Santa arriving in style on the back of a tractor.
Music and entertainment will also be enjoyed by the crowds
ahead of the big switch on at 6pm.
Many shops around the town have created an array of festive
window displays that for the first time you can vote on your favourite in the
Penrith Peoples Christmas window display awards.
The winner of the votes in the Penrith Peoples Christmas window display awards will be announced on the 17th December so you have time between this evenings spark switch on and the 17th December to walk around the town and enjoy all the displays and vote for your favourite via our map and voting form.
