Multiple Police and Immigration Raids carried out on Town Centre Businesses leading to arrests

Cumbria Police and immigration officers have this afternoon carried out a series of raids on Penrith businesses with individuals from inside those businesses arrested by police.

Police and immigration officers have entered at two businesses on Middlegate, including an off-licence and a nail bar.


At least one Asian male was detained by police and immigration officers.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said “Cumbria Police and partners are carrying out a multi-agency operation today (28 Aug) in the Penrith area, visiting a number of local businesses as part of the operation.”
“Residents and business owners may see an increased police presence in the area while officers carry out enquiries.”
