Multiple Fire Crews Called to Penrith House Fire in Early Hours of Saturday

In the early hours of Saturday morning two fire appliances from Penrith fire station were mobilised to reports of a building fire at a property on Strickland Gate in town.

On arrival fire crews found the only occupant of the property was outside suffering from minor smoke inhalation and the property was heavily smoke logged on the ground floor.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and were able to find and quickly extinguish the fire in the house.

Crews then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property.

The property owner who had escaped the property suffering minor smoke inhalation was checked over by North West Ambulance Service as the scene.

Fire crews were on the scene at Strickland Gate for approximately two hours before handing the property back over to the owner.
