Man Arrested after One Person Pronounced Dead in M6 Crash

man in his 20s was pronounced deceased at the scene of a collision on the M6 southbound on Monday evening.


Cumbria Police are investigating the fatal collision that occurred yesterday evening (Oct 16) on the M6 southbound at High Wreay just before 8pm.


Officers were called at 7:53pm to the report of a one vehicle collision, involving a white BMW. Emergency services on arrival pronounced a male in his 20s dead at the scene.


A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.


It is believed the BMW entered the M6 motorway from junction 42 and headed south.
