M6 Could Reopen as Early as This Afternoon

The second weekend of M6 closures between junction 40 and 39 for the replacement of the Clifton Railway Bridge could be lifted by this afternoon following the successful installation of the new Bridge on Saturday.

Highways Teams responsible for closing the roads at J40 and Kemplay over the weekend have been notified the M6 could be handed back and open to traffic later today.

The closure had been scheduled to last until 5am on Monday morning..

The early reopening is yet to be confirmed by National Highways.
