This summer Penrith-based music organisation BlueJam Arts CIC is hosting an exciting free activity programme for local families, thanks to generous funding from Cumbria Music Hub.
Featuring a series of inclusive relaxed concerts led by
professional musicians alongside several 'Have a Go' music sessions and
BlueJam's popular 'Come and Drum' workshops, there is plenty for families to
enjoy together during the long summer break. All sessions are conveniently
hosted at BlueJam's arts space in central Penrith.
Grown ups need to stay with their children and are
encouraged to take part too but there is no prior knowledge or skill needed to
attend. All families are welcome.
A parent, reflecting on an earlier programme of activities
at BlueJam, said:
"The team is so incredibly welcoming and they are so
amazing with children. We've enjoyed everything we've been to. The relaxed
family concerts geared towards children have been amazing. I'm not sure where
else we could get that experience. The 'Have a Go' sessions have been a
fantastic opportunity for my son."
Though activities are free, booking is essential for all
activities in BlueJam's summer programme. To book please email
admin@bluejamarts.org with which session(s) you would like to attend and how
many adults and children are in your group.
You will also be able to find BlueJam at Stomping Ground's
Wild Play Days on 31st July at Thacka Beck Field and on 7th August at Fairhill
Recreation Ground. This activity doesn't need to be booked.
