Festival-goers, volunteers, staff team and supporters at this year’s Kendal Calling have helped raise over an incredible £16,000 for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.
This figure will directly support the charity’s vital “in the home” nursing care for patients and their families and all the other vital services we offer across our local community.
Debbie McKenna, CEO of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland said, “while we do have to cover certain necessary expenses to make events like this possible, the funds raised represent a truly remarkable achievement. Every penny of the £16,000 net, will go towards providing specialist end-of-life care, comfort, and support to those who need us most.”
The charity also paid tribute to its volunteers, whose hard work and dedication make such successes possible.
“We could not fulfil our charity’s purpose without ourvolunteer support,” continued Debbie McKenna, CEO of Hospice at Home. “From early mornings to late nights, volunteers give their time, energy, and heart to our cause — and for that, we are endlessly grateful.”
Over the weekend, Hospice at Home’s iconic sea of sunflowers drew crowds to their stand, where festival-goers learned more about the charity’s work and donated generously. Many stopped to chat, share personal stories, and take home a sunflower as a symbol of support and knowledge that should we be required, we are there for our local community.
The charity also extended its thanks to everyone who visited their stand, to festival directors Andy Smith and Ben Robinson for their continued support, and to Kendal Calling for once again creating an unforgettable atmosphere, to date over the last 14 years of being at Kendal Calling, you have all raised over £140,000 that goes directly to the nursing care and other services we provide in our community.
“We hope to see you all in the fields again in 2026,” added Sally-Ann Maxwell, Head of Fundraising. “Your support means the world to us — and to every family we care for.”
