Heavy Delays and Tailbacks in and Around Penrith

Heavy tailback on the A66 and M6 around Junction 40 and Kemplay this afternoon. Traffic is queueing back onto the M6 and around junction 40 as well as all roads in and out of Penrith. 

The A66 between junction 40 and Kemplay roundabout is currently gridlocked with traffic experiencing delays of 20 to 30 minutes.

Traffic heading into and out of Penrith is also facing tailbacks and delays.

Advices to allow extra time for your journey, or find an alternative route if possible.
