Both appliances and fire crews from Penrith were called out earlier today (Tuesday 3rd December) to a one vehicle road traffic collision on at Watermillock. The Air Ambulance was also called to the scene to assist with casualties.
On arrival fire crews found a car had left the road having crashed through a hedge and come to rest in a field on its roof with one person inside the vehicle unable to get out.
Fire crews were able to get into the vehicle and assist the person out.
The occupant of the vehicle was hand over to paramedics to go to hospital to be checked out.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue are recruiting On Call Firefighters.
