Engineers from Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the North of England’s gas distributor, are carrying out repairs to a gas pipe in on Burrowgate in Penrith.
To enable Norther Gas Network to carry out the repair safely and efficiently Westmorland and Furness Council have placed an emergency road close on Burrowgate.
The emergency closure was put in place on Thursday afternoon and is expected to remain closed over the Easter weekend and through the next week until Friday 25th April.
The gas supplies to homes and businesses in the area hasn’t currently been affected by the works.
