Bank Holidays traffic is leading to lengthy delays this afternoon around Junction 40 with traffic currently queuing back past J41 along the M6 Southbound carriageways. Traffic is also queuing along the A66 on approach to junction 40 from the Stainton/Rheged roundabout.
Traffic through Penrith is currently heavy along the A6 with traffic exiting the M6 at J41 but moving despite the gridlock on the M6 and A66 with delays on upto 50 minutes on the M6 and 30 minutes for drivers on the A66 approaching J40.
Kemplay Roundabout is currently moving freely with no delays on the approach or around it despite the heavy traffic on junction 40.
