Traffic is facing lengthy delays in and around Penrith this afternoon as Emergency services responding to a collision on Kemplay Bank roundabout, Penrith.
The A66 eastbound is currently blocked from Kemplay Bank roundabout and Junction 40.
Motorists are asked to avoid this area if possible as any road closures could have an impact on traffic.
Traffic is backed up along Bridge Lane and another roads into Penrith as traffic looks for alternative routes due to the accident.
Tailbacks on the M6 of a reported 5 miles have also formed due to the A66 blockage.
The air Ambulance has been on the scene and the road is expected to remain closed for some time to allow emergency services to deal with the accident.
